Watch: The Scottish Brain Health Service Model

A new collaborative paper ‘The Scottish Brain Health Service Model: Rationale and Scientific Basis for a National Care Pathway of Brain Health Services in Scotland’ has been published in the Journal of Prevention of Alzheimer’s Disease.

The publication brings together expertise from 17 academic, clinical, and 3rd sector contributors across nine institutions. The paper sets out the proposed clinical pathway for new NHS services which focus specifically on brain health and prevention of neurodegenerative disease. The services, which represent the first nationwide approach of its kind, have been designed to provide:

1) Individual risk profiling

2) Early disease detection

3) Implementation of personalised prevention plans
